Can you add?

Umm i think you CAN, but i dont know if its a great idea... Believe it or not your local beaches are probably way dirtier then your tank.
 
To add to this I found this cool rock.... How can I add it to my tank? How to I make it safe?

Okay sounds good, I was thinking about going to where the water is 5 feet and get sand from there
 
I'd try to cure that rock first. Its most likely safe but it could have critters or algae in it. If you have an extra pump or powerhead make yourself a little bucket of circulating water and put it somewhere for a month in the dark. This should kill any stuff that could hurt your tank.
 
Were do u live ? Gulf of Mexico has lots of.phosphates and heavy metals in rock
 
I lived near imperial beach for a while kinda polluted I would no add anything from there to a tank
