hey thanks for the help guys. I have another question my sand is getting a black-grey coat over it what is this? And my water looks like it is getting dirty should I just leave it? I am cycling it.

Lights out during your cycle to keep the algae bloom down which is what you are experiencing. This is normal during a cycle and nothing to worry about.
