Setup- base rock/DSB

Opinions please.... :hat:

Did you place your base rock directly on your tank bottom, and place the sand around it? Or did you place the base rock on top of the DSB?
 
All depends on how you want it to look. Myself I'm going to put down 1" of sand then base rock till I get it how I want it to look then fill in the rest with the other couple inches of sand. It really is just a matter of preference.
 
actually, if you put the base rock directly on the bottom, the structure will be more stable as there is no shifting sand.
 
I did the same, base rock on the glass then sand around it. The live rock directly on top of the base rock and then a little more sand to cover the exposed base rock. Very stable this way and you only hide a very small amount of your expensive live rock.
