Sump and watee change

Hi All

I'm getting ready to do my first 20% water change and was wondering
74 gal with 20gsl sump
Do you turn off your return pump when doing the change so the sump doesn't run dry? Or ?
What's the normal procedure?

If your removing water faster than adding it you would need to turn it off. I have that problem too. I remove water faster than I can pump it in.

Yep turn the return pump off.
