fish selection and tank set up.

Since my 40 gal is going up here in a few weeks I need to start deciding on how I want it set up. Initially my 6 cherry barbs and 2 corry cats are going to be the only inhabitants. I want to try to make this tank somewhat unique by mimicking as close as I can, the native habitat of the cherry barbs. Obviously the cory cats ruin that idea, but I'll have to make the exception. So does anyone have any links to info that would help me with choosing other fish to put in the tank, as well as the plant types and bottom features to include (aka lots of wood, rocks, thick plants, sparse plants...ect....).

I would get some nice pleco's not herbiviour ones since they will eat your plants (Zebra Pleco's). Also, some angels and discus do great in plante aquarias.
