Are neon tetras fresh water fish or salt water?

Neon tetras are some of the most common fresh water fish. Not the hardiest but very pretty. Peaceful. What size tank? Is it cycled? They also need at least 5 for a school

Freshwater there are loads of tetras what kind of fish are you looking at
Rummy nose tetra
Congo tetra
Glow light tetra
Phantom tetra
Neon tetra
Cardinal tetras- Very similar to neons but in my opinion better

Those are a few I can think of, off the top of my head
New to fish keeping?

Neon tetras and glow light tetras in different tanks of course. I'm good at fish keeping and I wanted smaller fish and my friend told me about neon tetras. Both tanks have been running for two weeks and I'm not adding fish until next mounth.. and the neon tetra tank is 55 gallons ill add a few at a time.. the glow tank is fifteen gallons I think and I'm only gonna put a few small glow fish in it... thanks for the advice...

Neons and glo lights can be in the same tank. Might be interesting watching them interact.
