Hello my friends! I need some help! Went I got to my home I saw one of my tigers q barbel (green) that was swimming slow. I noticed very carefully and I saw it more chubby than normal and when it turned around I saw that his body was more inflated that their face! Also I see that their scales are opening and wounds on them! I remember this happened to a cherry barb too :(
Here I place the video for all here can be seen and tell me please that I can do? Right now I do not have a hospital aquarium and do not dare move it to a bucket of paint because other fishes that I've tried to cure separating them in those buckets have died, I think that the buckets have some chemical impregnated. Well folks hope you can help me! Greetings!

 
Yup, Pine cone disease aka Dropsy. What are the water parameters, usually something is off as mentioned previous post.

I would test, do a 50% pwc test and likely do another pwc maybe 50% just for good measure no matter if the parameters are good. Fresh water just sometimes helps. You can use a new bucket or even a plastic tote for a hospital "tank" new/and rinsed no soap of course.

Obviously is the water parameters are off you would keep up with aggressive pwc until it is back to safe levels.

Do you use Prime water conditioner?
 
Hi guys and thank you very much for the info that you provide. The cause of the disease of my fish was the commercial food fish unhydrated. I always soak the food in flakes and granules, because is this food is dehydrated and when to the fish stomach this food come to hydrated inside the fish and cause intestinal obstruction and other conditions. In this case my tiger barb swallowed a granule for bottom fishes that I put into the aquarium for try to feed my corydoras. If you want to now the treatment that I use to cure my fish leaves your comments and I will respond. Regards.

Hi my friend! Sure.. The treatment was that I use to cure my fish is the following.. First of all separate the fish in a farrowing crate as recommended me a friend in another forum. The farrowing crate gives rest to fish because it has little depth and not have to swim a lot. Understand that it also provides better oxygenation as this near the surface where the gas exchange. And finally it is a good option when there are no hospital aquarium and need to stop on an empty stomach to the sick fish so they can feed the other healthy fish. Instead of peas without skin as recommended by several friends, I used beans, skinless which is also a legume like peas and contains fiber and helps the fish unclog their gut that as the cause of dropsy in my fish as we discuss, was intestinal obstruction after it ate an entire unhydrated granule food for my bottom feeders fish. So very important to hydrate the commercial food either in flakes, granules or bottom feeders pellets because this food is completely dehydrated to preserve them in pet stores and if not becomes hydrated before feeding our fish, it will hydrate within the stomach of the fish, causing obstruction in the intestine of fish, affecting their swim bladder that is what helps the fish rise to the surface or down to the bottom. How the food becomes hydrated? Well soak for a few minutes in aquarium water before feeding our fish. Following the treatment, the fish were on an empty stomach for two days, the third day I started to fed with skinned beans and the fourth day it have a normal looking body again. On the fifth day the fish was still a part of their body that had scales affected. To help heal the scales I use a water conditioner that brings aloe. Already today the fish is fine without damaged scales without swollen body and swimming with the other barbs. Regards

I pre wet all my foods( I mentioned this in thawing frozen food thread).
I too think this is very important for most fish.
Beside the food swelling there is the question of air intake at the surface and whether the fishes organs can deal with it(also a cause of swim bladder issues).
