I've been having some problems with the heat in one of my 10g tanks, it seems to be fluctuation, probably the heaters on it's way out. Anyways I've noticed lately that the tail of my Pleco I have in there appears to be sliced (can think of a better word). Does anyone know what this is from or are they naturally like that?

TIA

None of them have shredded tails. What type of pleco is it and how big is it? What are the other tank mates? What are the other water parameters? Finally, is the pleco acting ill?

I think he has a lot of tetras..at least in one tank. But they are the small kind. Not likely to become fin nippers..
but ya never know.

edit: yeah checkeed his profile instead, he has NEONs in the tank..and you know the pesky things would be floating daily if the parameteres were bad enough to shred senor plecos tail. So it is either something strange hopefully not contagious..something added or the tetras being brave
