Hey everyone,

I am sorry I don't have a picture, but I was hoping that my description would be enough for you experts.

I have 55gal reef-ready tank that has been running about 4 months
65lb LR
4-6 small crabs
4-6 snails
1--Black Sailfin Blenny
3--blue/green reef chromis
1--Ocellaris Clownfish

My question is this--I have these clusters of green BB sized beads growing on my LR. There seems to be about 10 beads per patch with about 4-5 patches scattered on the rock. Any ideas?

Also, there is this one cluster of green rice shaped things. These are a little smaller than rice grains, but of that shape.

I was wondering if these are eggs of some kind.

I know this is limited info, but if you have any ideas--I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Steve

THe green bb's might be bubble algae if they are metallic looking and I am not sure about the rice grain things, are they clustered together?

I agree with Snapcrackler on the bubble algea. Dont pop the bubbles, they will release spores into the water and your bubble algea problem will increase 10 fold. I believe Emerald Crabs eat this algea. As for the rice things, do you have a pic?
