Just bought this new favia and chalice today.

01. After coming home and placing the favia in my tank I realized something I didn't see at the store. 2 of the 4 heads are receeding like if they are dying. Is there anyway to get it to grow again or will they both die?

02. I bought this chalice because I thought it was extremely nice. After doing some research online I could not find what type of chalice this is. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

forgot the pics....

1 looks more like an acanthastrea and I'd guess (purely guess) 2 as some type of echinophyllia... maybe a "Super Green eyed Purple Monster Echino". Sorry... like to make fun of the silly names.

Yeah... a couple of those acan polyps don't look happy, but I bet it'll come back within a couple weeks. Give it some time to get used to its new home.

thanks for the quick response...did some research and found the perfect placement for both...

The chalice looks almost like a montipora. I've seen someone call it a millioneyes watermelon chalice. Naming could be along the lines of the "superman's skidmarks" with zoas RHS LE "Millioneyes" Hybrid Watermelon Echinophyllia Coral .75-1 - Reef Hot Spot

I can never tell the difference between favia and acan. I have a nice rock with acan and the only reason I know that is because someone else told me what it was.
