Worm/Snail/Something ID

Hey everyone,

I don't have my camera so I can't take pics but I'll do my best to describe.

I've noticed a few of these around but now it looks like 2 are growing on a snail. They are like small yellow fluffballs and then they have white fur coming out of them. I don't think they're feather dusters

Sounds like a q-tip sponge.

Looks just like it... mine are a bit yellower but it could just be the light

Are these things going to cause a problem for me in the future?

I must have about 15 of these now... on rocks all over the place

No there just harmless filter feeders and the only way to get rid of them is to manually remove them. But most of the time they just come back after you remove them.
