No that little fish in the second picture is a German Blue Ram, no modifications.

Long time past your post but I took these with my phone. I think I took about 50 pics to get these two good ones. Nothing special. Only thing I do is turn off all the lights around the tank to reduce glare/reflection. Its a iPhone 6 if that's makes a diffenece.
