Algae

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Is your tank planted? If so, do you use fertilizers?

Is your tank near a window? If not, what light source and how long is it exposed to light?

Does your tank have a filter? Do you have fish in the tank?

You don't want to just start using some product to eliminate the algae. Algae is a symptom. You need to find out what the issue is.

I do not have plants just live sand and rock
It is near a window but has minimal light coming through
I have a 75 gallon saltwater tank with a cascade 1000 and a cascade 700 so filtration should not be a problem
The 700 is being used as a bio and the 1000 is my carbon filter
Also have 2 power heads for circulation. I have fish and live rock, corals, and a good size clean up crew and a blenny

Okay, since it's a salt tank, I have to bow out of this one. I only have fresh so wouldn't be able to tell you what to look for. Sorry about that.

Hopefully, one of our salty members will stop by soon. :)
