It is not a traditional bubble counter. You may be able to tell that it is flowing CO2, but it doesn't show you how many bubbles are being injected.

Are you sure? I have the same style diffuser and I am able to count the bubbles fine. It's not a solid stream of air going in the spiral, there is water that gets pulled into the line via a small hole at the bottom of the spiral... At least on mine.
