Grow Green Algae

Hey,

I have a 40 gallon tank with a lot of different fish. My dad's tank has all of this green algae and I think that it looks really cool. I've had the tank since June, but I'm still just getting brown algae. How can I grow the green stuff. Should I put something in to unintensify the lights?

Is it planted? There are a lot of "green algae" types out there. There's no easy way to increasing lighting without putting a bunch of unnecessarily expensive lights on your tank.

I do have some wisteria. I don't think you read it correctly. I want to buffer the light
