Hello! I am looking to purchase a new led fixture, and I was wondering if there is an ideal number of kelvin for a planted tank. I've heard anywhere between 5,000K and 10,000K is good, but is there a certain number that is ideal? Is it just personal preference? Thank you!

Temperatures in the 6000-7000K range generally look the most aesthetically pleasing. A combination of 6700K and 4000-5000K bulbs is also preferred by some.

Hello Plat...

Plants need a variety, just like fish or just about anything else. I use a two bulb fixture in my planted tanks. One is 6500K and the other 10,000K.
