they really need a larger tank. one looks as though it is a common comet they really need a BIGGGG tank.the other may be a fancy, but still only one fish( the fancy) needs 20 gal. but the comet probably needs to be rehomed to a pond somewhere.i know we get attached to our fish but we should always want what is best for them.5 gal is way too small you can just do the best you can until you can do better . but better needs to come sooner rather than later.dont want too hurt your feelings but facts are facts, also change water, change water probably every 2 or 3 days the ammonia and nitrates will build up fast so thats why i say change water that often.hope this helps. sk
