I just got the first "real" fish for my tank (it currently has a group of danios used to get a slow cycle started). He is a stunning peppermint bristlenose adolescent male, just starting to get his bristles in. I adore him. He will also be my most expensive fish, at AU$45.

I have seen peppermints with a really vivid white line along their tail and top fin, but he has a sort of dirty white line that bleeds into his black - do you think this will come with age, or is it individual fish-to-fish?

he is gorgeous! Not sure about the white line though. Maybe it changes with stress?

Wow he is a beauty. The line may very well show up more with age, but certainly may be a fish to fish individuality. I really don't know for sure.
