Hermit Crab Back from the dead ?????!!!!!!

Uh.....I'm confused....

I bought 2 Red Legged Hermits 2 weeks ago...and I was sad yesterday to find one of the 2 (let's call him #1) with its shell covered with sand a little bit too much...so I moved it and it came out, dead So I took it out, but left the shell in the tank. Please take note that I didn't see #2 very often.

But today, #1's shell was not a the place I left it. Actually, it was on the top of one of my rock, and very alive!!!!!!!!!

Do you think #1 was eating #2, and thats what came out, or #2 chose #1's shell out of the 20 or so empty ones for a new home?

Oh! My mistake! Both are there I guess it was his old skin! Quite impressive!
