Hi all,

I just picked up a sailfin tang. How often should i feed him alge. I usaully do a
feeding every other day with crushed pellets and clam and krill. But I know he needs the alge, so what's routine?

thanks

I have read folks use a food clip and feed him that way, as for what, you will have to wait for the more experienced tang folks.....

I using the food clip. Just not sure how often and how much he should be feed.

A couple of two or three inch pieces of seaweed, every day. Your average tang eats 40% of it's body weight daily, in the wild. Not that you would want to feed that much in captivity, but just to give you an idea.

Go to your LFS and get him some stuff called seaweed selects or something similar or even at your grocery store and get some nori. I feed my tangs this probably 4 or 5 days a week. They will forage on it all day. Every couple of weeks I`ll pull out some grape calerpa out the fuge and feed instead.
