In my return line there is t'd off valved line coming back to the sump so i can control how much water goes into the display without hurting the pump. I am having an impossible time getting the water being pumped out of the sump balanced with the water coming in via overflow. Any tips or suggestions?

what pump and what overflow are you using? just choke the pump off until you are satisfied. it's not going to hurt the pump at all to choke it off at the exhaust port. you don't need a T for this.

I agree to do away with the tee cause then you are throwing off the balance of water in with water out. Just a simple ball valve on the return line will be just fine

Well i have to run the pump at half capacity will that not be too hard on it? Its a mag drive 7. I do have it balnced out now but i am getting alot of microbubbles and im wondering if the teed off line is contributing to the problem.

Mag 7 running at half capacity with 6' head with 200 gph overflow
