HOB in a sump

so right now i'm in the market for a HOB skimmer for my nano tank. I'm choosing between a Eshopp or a Reef Octopus BH1000, or something rated for at least 65gal. my question is if i do upgrade to a bigger tank later on with a sump, can i have one of these two skimmer hanging on the sump as oppose to buy another in-sump skimmer?

You can, if the sump is tall enough and you can get the water level high enough. And of course as long as theres room lol
