So I have 2 power heads in my 26 gallon bow front tank 500 gph. One facing the surface and one facing the middle of tank. Is this too much water movement ?

What about too little? Is a lot of water movement imperative?

Yes. Water movement will help aerate the water, keep ph stable, and help keep fish poop and uneaten food suspended until filtration can remove it.
