Tell me about it, can you still not find one? Where have you tried so far?

So i got paid today and i just can't wait till friday, im picking up my purple firefish in the morning, id like to pick up a coral too.

Does anyone have any good suggestions on a starter coral, my lfs has some nice pulsing Xenia frags in stock on little plugs i have my eye on.
Would this be suitable im open too suggestions though! :)

Xenia are very easy, but spread like nettles. Zoo's are easy but don't really do anything. Again star polyps are easy and grow fast, daisy polyps etc, depends what you are after and into really, I'm mainly into lps and am yet to find one that's what I'd call super difficult to look after.

Been back about an hour picked up my firefish and a frag with around 30 zoa heads, also i just spotted when i got it home there's also a little piece of Xenia on the side of the lr! :)

So i miscalculated with the zoas there's more like 60 heads, here's a pic along with my Xenia, all for 12 quid, happy!!!
I'd of took a photo of the new firefish but didn't wanna stress him out taking one in the bag, and he's gone into hiding now, as soon as he starts to explore the bit, ill get some pics!

I started with a $4 frag of xenia and now have like 1 square foot of it after only a few months. It truly does grow like a weed. Just make sure the branches dont' touch rock or it will spread that way, it attaches to anything it leans against. :)

That has a lot of heads! A real good steal you got there. Can you see the Xenia pulsing yet?

I hope so I've rested the edge of the frag with the Xenia on up against some of my lr the branches and tips are blowing against my live rock should this spread?!

If the stalk is touching rock then yes, it will attach itself to that rock. You can place it up against a rock that you don't mind getting covered in xenia. :)

Literally the minute I put it into the tank it was reactive to touch and pulsing!
I know there's a lot of heads I didn't think there was that many!

Hehe you say that now....It is the fastest growing coral you can get in my opinion. Also somewhat touchy in some peoples tanks so stay on your water parameters and all should be well. You'll be cursing the stuff in a few months, mark my words! LOL

Can't wait, looks like I'm gonna have a few frags going spare then hopefully! :)
