Love the black petco sand. I use it in my 8g too with some white petco sand. I only needed to rinse it a couple times though

It does look nice :) I think I over rinsed it because the water didn't turn black when I put it in the tank.

Does anyone think I could add a clown killifish with my current stock? I really like them, and if anyone knows about them, help me out! Lol

I have attached a picture of my stock list from the first post. I'm too lazy to go to a computer ad copy and paste because the app does not have it. Lol

NOTE: since the list was made, I have removed the boesmani rainbows.

Also, today marks the 7th day in the cycle, so far the ammonia has stayed at 4 ppm. Should I be expecting it to start to drop soon? That's when the nitrites start I believe.

EDIT: I did some research and talked to SM, and decided that the clown killifish was not for my setup!

I think I'm tarting to get a nitrite reading!! But the ammonia has not dropped yet.

The 60 gallon test was like a darker blue-purple color, and my cycled ten gallon is a turquoise color (which is what the 60 used to be!) But not quite as dark as .25 ppm, so I'm just gonna say its below .25 ppm.

But I thought it was kinda odd that the ammonia didn't drop at all. Maybe we'll see something tomorrow.

How is the driftwood coming along?

lol, nothing on it yet. It is a bit big for the tank, I'm going to cut the bottom down just a little this weekend, then maybe silicone slate to it because the screws just slip right out. Right now, the wood is obnoxiously large for the tank. It should be in (FINALLY) the tank in a few days.

Is it odd that there's a tiny bit of nitrites without an ammonia drop? I could have screwed up the test.

The cycle is moving along! Today- now .50 ppm nitrites 5 ppm nitrates!!

But no ammonia drop whatsoever

Patience. Those little guys are wrkn...

I take it back, there was an ammonia drop lol.

Anyway, since it seems your the only one here, do you know anything about planted tank lighting and co2 and stuff? Because I'm kinda feeling a little uneasy about not doing co2 on this tank. Do ya think 108 watts is too much for this without co2?

Hey, im here;)

I think 108 watts might be too much without lighting, but i am not sure:)

If that's the case, then I'm screwed lol! Do you know if root tabs will help with the imbalance? I also have some excel just in case. I ordered a bunch of plants from live Aquaria yesterday. They're coming tomorrow can't wait! I got about 23-4 ish plants for $82. And a moss ball, I love moss balls lol

Your screwed that im following?;) lol!!

Ya, wow, pics of those plants when they come!! I dont think root tabs will make up for the lack of co2, but i think you can dose somthing for co2 right?

Send a PM to aqua chem. He helped me a lot with my plants and lighting and CO2.

No I meant that I was screwed about the co2 lol!

Bruinsbro1997- thanks! I'll do that!

Okay. I got the plants today! They look awesome, a lot more than I though there would be. I LOVE them. They fill up the tank nicely! My only concern is that now there doesnt look like there'd be a lot of room for 10 cories. Ignore the little plant pieces floating around. The water is clear now.
