Hi All,

Could any one I'd this please? I believe it to be black hair algae but after reading up bha tends to be short and appear RO have thicker strands

Yup! Agreed. Red Slime Algea(Cyanobacteria). Suck it up with a hose, and do a PWC.
Comes from excessive nutrients in your water.
Ie. Nitrates, Phosphates
Cut back on your feeding/ about half. And shave a few hours off your lights! This will help get it under control.
