I recently put driftwood in my tank and its still releasing tannins. I know I'll have a problem with that for a little while but before I added the DW it was steadily cloudy even after PWC.

What's the best way to get that cleared up??

Carbon it your filter should help along with water changes.

Okay I have 2 Fluval FX5's.. any specific kind or just the one Fluval makes? And do you know which tray it would best go in? Right now I just have BioMax in all 3 trays in both filters.

another vote for purigen. i've used it before with good results

Okay guess I'll go with seachem then :) thanks guys I appreciate you're help!

When I replace the biomax with carbon, can I just put the extra biomax in the other trays or would that make them overfilled?? Like scatter them between trays 1 n 2??

100ml is what I use in my canister. Had to buy online since none of the LFS stock it

Just make sure to bag it properly. You don't want tiny purigen beads flying around in your tank. I used a lady's nylon stocking, 3 layers.

Well I went to my LFS and they didn't have any purigen :/ so I winded just buying the Fluval stuff, hopefully it works just as good

It's worth a shot. Fingers crossed!

Polly fill is great for removing small particles from the water but I doubt it'll do much for the tannins.

Omg! I just took out 1 of my 2 canisters, rinsed everything off, added carbon and I plugged it back in and its not doing anything!! Motor doesn't sound like its running :(
