Moved my 110.... the water changer sucked up an oto and now he is dead and stuck in the tube. I can't seem to get him out no matter how much I flush it with water.

Moved the living room furniture around. I assembled the stand on my own! Woohoo. A monkey could put that thing together



Tomorrow if I can find my spray paint I'll do the back of the tank, find some egg crate, and wash some sand.

I would go with egg crate. It creates a good base for your rock and could prevent rock from shifting if you have a shrimp or goby that digs.

These are taotronics 120 watts. This picture was taken at about 30ish percent. The lights are crazy bright

Nice. I might look into one of those for my next build. Does it give good coverage of the entire tank?

It is good coverage but you can certainly see it thin out on the edges. Not sure about growth as I don't have any livestock. The lights on the fixture are probably only in an 8x4 inch area

Also the fixture itself is very sleek , the fans are quite, and is easy to operate.

I'm currently gluing the toothpicks out of two rock structures. I'm a fan of height in tanks. Here is one.



I'll wait a few days for the glue to cure. I'm thinking I'll start cycling Monday.

A couple of things... I will be getting egg crate before I put sand in. Will a single bag of "live" sand be okay to seed if the rest is pfs?

I found a guy on cl who is breaking down a number of his tanks. I'll be buying some live rock from him. Is $5/lb a good deal?

$5/lb seems a little high for buying off of CL. My stores charge $6-10, depending in the store and type of rock. I would think you should pay $3-4/lb off CL.

I think I like this scape. Going to order salt, a refractometer, and another power head tonight. I'll buy salt for the cycle Thursday. Going to be doing raw shrimp to cycle.
