My tank just finished cycling, took two weeks I think. Either way, I have black air tube, it's flat black, top fin brand. All these white spots have appeared, tons of tiny spots, that wipe always easily, but come on...

What is it?

It looks like mold to be honest. That silicone air line may not be suitable for sustained underwater use.

It's made for underwater. There was this fluval air line at petsmart, but it was a glossy, and I thought that would stand out more. Maybe I'll give that a try than.

Not very fast. I think I'm going to buy that fluval air tube. It had a glossy coat over it, I think that will help.

No, nothing in there yet. And what are diatoms?

Oh algae huh? If it is that, how does it form? And is it harmful, how would I get rid of it?

So diatoms, not harmful, And they will eventually go away on there own, right? I don't have anything in my tank though, and it still could be these diatoms? I'm putting fish in tomorrow, do I need to do anything differently than I planned now that I realized this algae?

They're just small air bubbles. Happens to me in all of my new tanks in the beginning. Just wipe them off.
