Shoot thats too bad, great tank though, those would all be the exact fish i would put in mine if i had a saltwater tank!

In the future I plan on changing my freshwater tank to brackish, with a sandy bottom, and maybe some live plants. But when school starts again in fall I really don't have a lot of time on my hands so I'm hoping that tanks with any salt in them don't take as much matinance as freshwater. Especially with live plants in it. :(

If you are under 18, feel free to post! You can just say your first name, age, and what state you're in if you want.

So I'm Bradley, 15, and in Michigan.

I'm just kind of curious, because in my area it seems like I'm the only teen who's in this hobby. So i just kinda want to see how many more there are out there who are in it.

(Older people can chime in too, i just kinda wanted to see how many other teens there were)

My names brad to! I'm 18 in fl

This is my first reef tank and these are the fish iv
Been wanting for years so it's great to finally have them. Many people say that tangs can easily get ich but iv never had the problem(knocks on wood)

Haha rock on! Thats cool! I've actually never heard that before lol

I played baseball for my high school so I wouldn't get home till 6 everyday but iv set up my reef in such a way it really isn't that much maintains to keep it running. I don't know much about plants since iv never kept one but, I'm sure you can find the time

I don't own a saltwater aquarium but they always seem like so much matinance and they are quite large(from what I've seen). So your post actually surprised me.

Once you get the hang of keeping SW tanks, it can actually be easier than freshwater in some ways. But yeah, you need larger tanks.

What fish are to planning to put in the brackish aquarium? What type of plants?

Wow! I heard the smaller the SW tank, he harder to keep water parameters stable. Fowlr or with coral?

It is harder to keep. I top off my five gallon water and do weekly water changes and weekly test. I only touch my 10 gallon once a month so its around 4 times more upkeep but I love tending to it. I have Duncan corals, Xenia(which for some reason isn't doing well), closed red and green brain coral, green recordia mushrooms, colt coral, and zoo polyps, 2 feather dusters which reproduce a lot, 2 baby clown fish scheduled to go in a 29 gallon in a few months, 1 two spot crab eye goby, and one green clown goby. I used to have a shrimp but iodin chemicals were accidentally added to the water and added to much to the aquarium which made him molt and susceptible to disease and then the nitrates went up to 10 ppm and killed him because ich broke out and I had to switch to frozen food medications. I have 7 lbs of LR and a 20 gallon aqua clear system with bioballs and floss pad, with 47 3 watt white LEDs and 3 3 watt blue LEDs and 5 lbs live sand.

That is A LOT of things packed into only a 5 gal! Must look really awesome. Those corals look/sound really cool to. Got any pics?

Most the corals are just growing out of the frag stag but they do look amazing!!! I really want to get some capricornus coral(orange cap) and candy cane but I'm all put of $$$ cuz I have 9 aquariums... Lol. The tank is running smoothly tho. I'm really careful with maintenance and stuff on it. I have a 5 gallon breeder tank with lots of fish in it, but its freshwater haha

I got the 2.6 as a fluval spec from petco :) and the 8 gallon is a biocube back from when I was 13 and they were about to discontinue their line of 8 gallon cubes.
