I have a mystery snail in my aquarium who won't eat the cuttlebone I've placed in it. His shell is beginning to deteriorate and I'm getting worried. Is there anyway that I can get him to eat it or can I place something in the filter that will dissolve and spread the calcium throughout my tank to be absorbed? Please help!

What are the calcium levels in the tank? Are they really low it something. Your average tap should contain plenty of calcium. From another of your threads I know that your tank isn't really cycled and there is lots of ammonia. I'm not too sure but I think too much ammonia can do this to a snail. If this is the case the cuttlefish bone isn't doing anything.

Quick question, sense I only have one fishtank, can I cycle it with the gravel inside as a speed boost? I heard that to speed up cycling you can add a handful of gravel in your filter to speed it up and seed it. But can I cycle that way?

If the gravel doesn't have any bacteria in it, then its pointless. And because your tank has so new, then the gravel will have just as much as the filter so it wouldn't do anything.

Brad your tank looks pretty good!
Quick question - do you have any power heads in your tanks?

I have one power head in my 29 gallon biocube but other than that I don't use power heads. My five gallon gets lots of circulation when the filter is turned on high but right now its on low so my mushrooms can re attach to rocks

You can buy some of the liquid calcium supplements that you can get at some lfs. That can help the snails shell. But that shouldn't usually happen because ( as max47 said ) most people's tap water has an adequate amount of calcium.

Finally got my 25 set up, planning to add some more rock later

Just be extremely cautious when using anything that has a motor/ propellor near sand. I've wrecked at least one good filter and powerhead because of sand :/
