So I've currently moved back form North Dakota to Indiana and from the prices from North Dakota to my current LFS they just seem high. Just curious of prices at some of the other fish stores out there to kind of compare. Maybe I was just heating great deals in ND! Ha a flame angle at my old FS was around $55 my new FS is $75. A regal tang in ND ran about $60 witch I though was kinda high but then I went to my new one and it was $98 for about a 2in regal tang. There shrimp and crustaceans are fairly reasonable. Copper band butterfly's were $44. I think I bought my old one for $30. Was I just getting great deals or are they a little high also they are the only fish store in town, so to there advantage where else could you go you know. Thanks

The new prices seem awfully high. Are they doing anything special such as QT each shipment of fish separately etc?

No QT System from what I saw I asked that question before and they have 3/4 of there tanks hooked together with the same filtration so if just one of those fish has lets say ick I would think all of the fish are capable of carrying. I've seen a couple with viral infections so i don't think they keep a good eye out for sick fish. I honestly believe they are so high because they have no completion. I just bought a reef octopus protein skimmer online the 150 model classic because they were 50 dollars more in the store!

That's what I was thinking! Ha I think I would get better deals doing fish orders online but I've never done that. So I would be a little worried doing that.

There are some very reputable online fish sites. Liveaquaria.com tends to set the standard. Arrive and stay alive guarantee is nice too.

I'll have to check them out. What are some standard prices for your area on some standard fish?

Prices can vary wildly. I'm out in the Palm Springs , CA area. Out here, a Blue Jaw Trigger is $68 at one of the two LFS. Same size where I used to live in Orange County (at all stores) is $40. Then, there are two guys on Craigslist that will get whatever you want from the Wholesalers near LAX and they charge $30.

I do not know specifics, but do know that a lot of fish come in through LAX from basically everywhere. I believe there are some Wholesalers in the general area.

They said that a 40b with sump FOWLR would cost near $1000. Any input? I thought it was downright ridiculous

What does that include? Tank, sump, pump, rock, stand? I am setting up a 125 that will be close to $4000 when im done

My girlfriend bought me an $90 flame angel at the Lfs near my house.... Prices be crazy

im in central ca. And I recently purchased a flame angel that ran me $45, I thought that was pretty fair.
I live in montreal, Canada. Prices are higher because shipping live stock here is much more expensive. Oh well lol
