Can they coexist? I have 2 RE and 2 Pearls in a 55 with a large Buenos Aires tetra, 8 neons and a Bolivian Ram. I wanted to add to my Red Eyed shoal. Any thoughts?

Add about 6 to the shoal for good schooling behavior. This will also keep nipping down. The buenos aires tetra could become a problem down the road without a few of his own kind to school with. up his school to 5 or 6 if possible. Other than that stock looks good. Do the pearls play nice with each other? They can be aggressive with their own kind.

We must be on the same wavelength or something. I went out on my lunch break before I got any replies and picked up 6 more Red Eyes. They look awesome in my tank and the original two are just as happy as can be!

I have a single female pearl with a school of six red eyes. They are fine together. I don't know about a pair, though.

My pair get along great. They are always swimming together and going up for air side by side. They love each other.

Are they a male/female pair? I thought about getting two, but I was afraid if they became a mating pair they would become territorial toward my other fish so I decided to just get one.
