FresH2O's 20g planted rescape

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
True. Snails and current are the culprits in my tank.
No experience with the "cuba" plant your mentioned.
Hoping all the fish in QT are fine today (work is a four letter word). I'm thinking when I move the fish out of QT, it will be in stages (CPDs first, furcatas second) so that I don't overwhelm the DT.
Here are some slightly angled pics I took last night:

How long do you usually allow for your Pogo clippings to be?

Go Reds!

My bad, the plant I had been asking about was ludwigia inclinata verticillata cuba..

Getcha feet wet fish tank people!

Yes, it does resemble limnophilia

The tank is 12" tall; I try to stagger them by allowing the ones near the back of the patch to grow between 6-10" and the ones in the front 3-5". I get lazy and next thing you know, a few stems are at the surface.

Fresh what temp is your tank at?

Idk. Last time I checked it was probably 79 F. I removed the thermometer to clean it several months ago and it never went in. My shrimp tank has star repens and it is about 78 F.
The only time I saw any melt was about this time last year. I may have been overdoing it with the PPS pro (tripling macros and doubling micros). I was just switching over to pressurized CO2.

I might rehome the gold tetras.
Yes, I've had them for many years but I think they are teaching the ember tetras bad habits. Let me explain.
As long as I have had them, they have been skittish. They would spook easily and hide all of the time except for feeding time. When I bought the danios a few years back, they served as dither fish and the golds would swim with them. Now the danios are gone (rehomed them because they don't fit the nano theme) the golds just hover nervously in one spot. For hours. They will occasionally dart to a new location and hover there. Or dart at each other. Or hide in the plants.
The embers were patrolling the tank as a group up until several days ago. Now they pretty much line up near the bottom of the tank and mimic the golds.
If I do remove the golds I want to do it before the CPDs and furcatas move in from QT (probably next week). The LFS will take them.

Well... the first negative thing I've ever said about your fish keeping practices, we all value you as a memeber but... tetras prefer a shoal of 5+, they're probably just terrified.. you're overstocked, do.more wc's! Blah blah.. haha seriously though, I would never keep a pair of tetras.. it'd be like the walking dead crew leaving the new.guy and the pastor out in the woods.. uneasy much??
At this point up the shoal? Rehome?? Move them to the qt (hospice)

The trio will be rehomed either to the QT or LFS. I know that they would do better with larger numbers but even when I had 6-7 of them, they exhibited the same behavior. I remember when I got them they were something I've not seen before (at PetSmart). And have not seen since. Replenishing the dwindling school was not part of the plan and, honestly, them living this long was not anticipated.

The task today will be to catch the trio of golds. If they go into the QT, that means the CPDs and furcatas will have to move into the DT. CPDs have been in QT for 11 days and the furcatas 5 days. Other than the one Furcata going belly up the first night, all are eating and swimming and no signs of Ich, fungus, twitching, flashing, or other odd behaviors.

Furcatas (Fritadas) are CPDs and in the house!
Moved out the Gold tetras and added the Furcatas and CPDs. 1 hour drip acclimation (from QT to DT). The 3 amanos went straight to the tank because one of then started to scale the wall of the 5 gallon bucket (water was only a couple if inches deep so it had a long way to go). After a few minutes I dropped in some food and this tank is full of life. Here are some pics. Furcatas never stay still so pics of them are blurry at best.
