Get outta here, Fresh! Plant fertilizer stuff on one shelf, food on another, and water quality products on the bottom. It's not THAT organized!

Just wait until I build my own stand. I might start making drawers! ?

Items in alphabetical order. Drawers would be nice. Just make sure there is enough room under neath for the stuff (filters, CO2 gear, etc).

Now this I have to see lol

Oh and don't give me any ideas about drawers seeming how I have a bare frame in my garage.

How about self closing doors and drawers? Saw that at my brother in laws new house. Just a touch and they close slowly and quietly without even a dull thud. Okay, a bit excessive there. But seriously, wrap that thing to reduce any sound from filters and pumps.
The Fluval 206 I just installed is noisy. I know if may be due to air in the impeller that will eventually dissipate. I read that inverting the unit while it is running will help flush out any trapped air. I tried that and found that it leaked. Thought it was a fluke so I tried it again and it leaked. So with the unit off and the auto lock valve shut, if I tilt the unit several ounces of water comes out and then it stops. Tilt, leak, repeat. Is something wrong?
I've opened the top a few times to make sure the o-ring was seated properly. Still I cannot get over the hum from the impeller. I was thinking about installing it next to the tank cabinet and I am so glad I did not. I can hear it humming in the cabinet while standing in the room (8x10).

I didn't read the instructions either when I seupt my ehiem and did the same thing with the in and out tubes. Lol.

I'm no help with the 206. The ehiem was noisy at first then became quite after a minute or two. Havent had no problems even since setup.

Maybe there was water collecting outside of the O ring.

I was thinking that as well. So this morning I tilted it less than 45 degrees and I could feel moisture seep from the area where the lid meets the body. So I've got leaking and noise. I wrapped it in a towel and went to work (fingers crossed).
When I unpacked it I noticed the box had little to no packing material and one of the hose brackets had a few pieces broken off. I'm wondering if this is indicative of rough handling and if this could be contributing to the problems.
I looked up the return policy and the good news is that I can exchange it at a local Petco store. The bad news is since I used PayPal on Petco.com, if I want a refund, I will only get store credit. That can be quite limiting if I want something other than what they carry.
Updates to follow...

Haha. That was easy. I don't need anymore tanks.
I did pack up the filter and swap it out with a new one at a local Petco. Setting this up should be a breeze since I did it yesterday. Fingers crossed that things go smoothly this time.

Good luck with the new one! You don't need anymore tanks but it's more of a want ;)

Setup the leak test ☔️ on the replacement filter:

It passed. While it was running I held it at 90 degrees and completely inverted. Shook it. Air was flushed from the impeller area. Not a drop from the seal. I'm thinking the Samsonite Gorilla ? handled the last filter.
Sound wise, I can hear it as an audible hum. Not much louder than one of my AC50s that had been acting up. Should be fine in the cabinet......
I drained it, added the media including floss, hooked up the peripherals, hack a few inches off the clear intake tube, and primed it. This time I left slack in the line. Everything is fine but it is noisy. Since the tubing was so long I was able to put it in front of the cabinet:

It is actually QUIETER there than IN the cabinet. That's telling me the the flimsy panel walls are amplifying the vibrations. ? I need to put something at the bottom of the cabinet and interior panels to absorb the vibrations and dampen the sound. Hmmm. When I get around to building a new cabinet, it should not have these issues. 2x4s and thick plywood and not this pressed wood product.
Anywho, intake is in the left rear corner and output is in the rear right flowing right to left. Enough to keep the water lettuce in constant motion.

Sweet....how's the flow on the plants? I had to put the koralia nano 240 on a timer, got to be too much for the fish & plants..

Flow is not bad. Obviously decent flow on the left side but not blowing away the plants. The CO2 mist from the diffuser in the back of the tank is traveling upward at a 45 degree angle so that's promising. One of the nice things is that the foreground plants are not getting pummeled (and uprooted).

I don't know about the canisters but all my filters quieted down a day or 2 after I set them up. Of course they are all aqua clears.

I hope this is the case with the Fluval 206. Will be keeping an ear on it.

You might want to look into sound panels. You can put them in the cabinet. They work wonders!

I thought of doing something like this. I found some 3" foam and cut a square for the base. The stuff was too thick to mount vertically (interior clearance front to back is under 9"). Plus, the cabinet doors are the sliding type and not on hinges so that limits what can be mounted on them. I found some plastic material used under floating wood floors (shiny on one side, spongy on the other, ~1/8") and taped that to the back wall and along the doors.
The result: With the cabinet doors closed it is quiet. Maybe a dull hum at best. I am pleased with this.

Rocking the Orange vest! Hope you get a discount on stuff. Given what I've had to deal with regarding sound insulation, I'm definitely factoring that into my next stand.
The filter is not silent but it's not leaking. The insulation I added definitely helped. There's a slight rattling noise (impeller?) and some silicone grease may help with that.

I saw that on you thread. That stinks. I'm using the stock AquaTek one and the plastic is not that strong (a part where the suction cup attaches broke off).
I have a Fluval in my fish junk box. Have not used it yet. No check valve but lots of positive reviews on Amazon and it's cheap...$3.39.

Sup Fresh, turns out after cleaning the tubing on the canister which filters the 20L I placed the atomizer just outside the canister on the return & I'm now seeing alot better diffusion...when lights kick on the drop checker is almost lime green..pearling within minutes thereafter.
