I have been in the marine hobby for a few years but I am going back to freshwater for a bit. I am doing an amazon build so I want my water to be more acidic then my tap water is. I was thinking I would just use my Ro.DI filter and mix in tap water to get the right minarials back in the water any idea on what ratio to use? this is for a big tank so I dont want to buy a product to achive this unless its like .01$ gallon lol

should I do a half and half? I think when I did this before on my planted tank I did a 3 gallons Ro - 1 gallon tap water.

Also this is a planted tank.

That's the ratio I use (3:1), but I think it will depend on how Hard and Alkaline your tap water is to begin with. Since I'm no chemist and don't know the maths involved, I just ended up experimenting with different mixes until I got the result I was looking for.

my tap is hard. I will see what the 3:1 comes out to
