Those are some good looking guppies you got there!
Those are from your buddy who has worked this strain for years and parents to new fry???

Yes, he is actually my friends dad, in his late 60's, he owned a brick and mortar fish store for over thirty years. These blood lines origins began in 2004. I'm super excited to carry something like that on. I have no extreme goals with breeding these guys, just happy to carry on his strains. We've killed so many hours with him just telling me about "back in the day" fish. It's awesome when a hobby can be much more than just that.

My firemouth out and about

Green severum looking derpy

Clown barb, Puntius everetti

Finally got a good shot of the guppy, you can see the enormity and pattern of the tail and the length of the dorsal. I'm not sure I could count the colors on this guy.

And finally a quick look at the coralline algae spreading through the saltwater tank.

Love the colors on that guppy! Reminds me a lot of what I'm working towards with my Endlers.

Dawww that severum! I miss the ones in my 150 back home. Such pretty fish. I always liked their nickname, "poor man's discus".

Such great fish, so much personality! Tiny was the size of a quarter when purchased, almost 10" when he died after we had to move :(

Beaufortia kweichowensis!

Poppa I forgot you had retics in particular! You NEED to breed those!!!! (It can be done!)

They are low maintenance aren't they? I picked them for that, since they're under my parent's "care" My mother is a decent fishkeeper but too busy for more than monthly changes and has the worst impulse buys.... If they last long enough I'm gonna rescue mine and try to spawn them.

That's what I wanted to hear bud. It will be a while. I cringe with half the tanks I see discus in, it's not something I take lightly. When I can devote the time and energy these great fish deserve you will be my only choice. Hey I've always wanted to see the Midwest.

Nice coralline growth in the nano! Just wait til it takes over the front glass, then you'll be cursing it

We all have one of those vehicles, mines a 91 Camaro convertible.

So any input on what size my sevs will color up or guesses on sex? I know one is male.

Also not a bad juvie firemouth huh? He is very well colored compared to other young meeki I've seen.

I got my sev early in 2007 so digging around for pics was a bit of a project. First is early Feb:

I know they're not the greatest pics, sorry. But I hope that gives you an idea of growth and color change.

K, thanks. Looks like the February shot is about where mine is now, mine may be a little smaller. Hopefully by spring they will be developing.
