I would say the likelyhood that ich could stay alive in an environment without fish for the entire time until it gets from the LFS to you is impossible, that is unless your store keeps fish in the coral tank. Ich needs fish to survive. Ask how long the coral has been in the tank at the store...

All 3 of my tanks have these little white hard rocky type things stuck to the back of the tanks and some on the sides. They look circular in their shape sort of like a shell but they are really stuck on hard and i can only get them off with a razor blade. any idea what these are?

Maybe i shouldnt be doing this but i've always been told and used a very very small dosage of maracyn. Killed it dead in a few days. It will come back though but very slowly. I do use tap water with phosguard in my filter as well. Anyone else use maracyn or heard of it?

Reminds me of Decaying pellet food i used to see in peoples oscar and jack dempsey tanks who over fed. It'd look like it was clear and fuzzy. Just an idea, could be something totally different entirely.

Every fish store i've ever worked in bleaches them, and when they get real bad they use muriatic acid on them. a little overkill IMO.

I've seen everywhere that dragon gobies are reef safe. I recently added some corals to the tank and i see him nipping on xenia and my mushrooms. is he going to continue nipping on them like this or is this ok for him to do? I have heard that they can cover up corals and bury them as well.

Now that you mention molting, it looked like the same type of stuff i had seen on sponge crabs. Probably molting. I hadn't even thought of that. It did fall off of him shortly after letting him crawl around in the bucket with some water. Thanks!
