How deep should my substrate be. I plan on using eco-complete for my 29 gallon tank and need to know how much I should get. It will be densely planted if that matters.
to get rid of the hard water stains, get the glass wet and use a razor blade to scrape it off. Hold the razor blade horizontally and scrape upwards on the glass.
You won't have to recycle the tank as long as you use the same filter as you were before and you keep it wet. Most of the bacteria lives in the filter and not the substrate. The sand shouldn't effect your pH or ammonia. PFS is recommended by most people here.
hey dann.yy, I am looking for a light for my 29 gallon tank and I think this is the one. I don't know if I will be able to get any money soon though so I don't want to keep you waiting. If I do manage to get some money in the next couple of weeks I will take you up on your offer.
thanks timwag. I am most likely going to go with the coralife fixture. I might buy it from dann.yy if I can find some money soon. otherwise I will just pay full price on doctor foster and smith. I am also going to get the all glass versa top since it cant be put over open water
I am setting up a 29 gallon tank and want to grow some dwarf hair grass in it to cover my substrate. Will this light be enough. I want to get the 24" double fixture. If it is not enough, could someone recommend a cheap open top alternative?
you could put some koi in a 55 as long as you have a TON of filtration and you have a BIG pond to put them in after they get to big for the tank. The pond is a must though. If you don't have a place to put them after they out grow the tank (which will be fast), don't get them!
