    Clown Loaches

Thanks Thank you for the feedback, guys. The other fish seem to be doing fine in the tank. The 'fat' clown loach is still behaving normal. I don't see him do any weird things.

    Clown Loaches

About a week ago, I bought a couple of Clown Loaches. I burried a plastic tube underneath my gravel and they just love hiding in that tube from time to time. They come out at night and at day, whenever they feel like it. I had several reasons for buying 2 Clown Loaches. I know that they love...

    Diatom Algae?

Loaches I actually bought a couple of Clown Loaches, thinking that they would get rid of the 'brown algae' in my tanks (that was not the only reason why I bought them), but they hardly touch the algae. I guess I was totally misinformed and should have done my homework better. LOL

    cory cat fins damaged?

Fins The gravel is probably the reason as to why their fins have deteriorated, especially if the corys are kinda jumpy and tend to dart off. Sooner or later the regular gravel will damage their fins or barbels. I'd like to advise you to buy smaller gravel without sharp edges. This might work...

Reptile Glow as good as Aqua Glow?

When I visited Pet World, they had run out of Aqua Glow, but the guy said that Reptile Glow should be just as good. It is also 6700K and the wavelength spectrum looks the same. I am just wondering though, why they would call it Reptile Glow though, if it is identical to Aqua Glow. Are they...

    corys rubbing against gravel

I have noticed this before, but sometimes one of my corys quickly rubs itself against the gravel. It is a very quick, swift movement in which it throws itself on its side and then back up again. At first, I thought that it might be caused by high levels of nitrate, but regular checking seems...

    Dead Betta

Thank you Thank you for your feedback. I will refrain from getting a new Betta then, because I want a reasonable amount of current in my tank for my Corys; they love the current and actually like to swim against the waterflow. That is because of their natural habitat.

    Dead Betta

What I did notice, was that he really did hang out at the 'waterfall' of the HOB a lot. He got pulled into the current and then sometimes would be tossed underwater, after which the whole process would repeat itself. But at some point he stayed away from the waterfall and hovered between my...

Dwarf corys in a 2 gallon?

No cories I, personally, would not put those two dwarf cories in a 2 gallon tank. I would give them more space than that. But that is just me. This URL might help you though: http://www.corycats.com/art%2004_dwarfs_and_pygmies.htm

    Waiting for the cycle

Be patient. It took my tank approximately 7 weeks to get fully cycled. Soon enough your ammonia level is bound to rise. Keep em fed and it will all come naturally. :) No need to buy more Danios. I would wait with that.

    Nitrite,GH Jump

You might want to test your tap water for GH and PH. That might explain those two values. Normally your nitrite level drops after a water change. At least, that is my personal experience. If you haven't overfed them and if you didn't disturb the bacteria, then I don't know what could have been...

    Dead Betta

This morning I found my new betta dead, stuck to the water intake tube of my HOB filter. I immediately checked my water levels and there is nothing wrong with them (0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate). He died after two days. Could it be that he got stressed out from my Corys? I mean, they really...

    fish suggestions???

Not the same thing The Corydoras Julii and the Corydoras Trilineatus are not the same. They are commonly mistaken. For example, Petco in Denver sells Corydoras Julii eventhough in reality they are Trillineatus. Actually, I tried to find some good images of both using Google, but a lot of...

Shrimp or snails for algae control?

As far as I know, Corydoras don't eat algae at all. I thought it was one of the big misunderstandings about Corys.
