I've been keeping an eye on this thread hoping someone would mention the osmocote [emoji4] how often do you put new tabs in the substrate when you use osmocote? I've recently added 2 amazon swords and was wondering how often they'd need more ferts
In my experience, livebearer fry are pretty easy to take care of. I've always kept mine in the breeder box until they were big enough to not be eaten. Not sure if the 5 gallon is necessary. I just fed mine flake food that i crushed into a powder. I've heard of other people feeding theirs live...
I recently added a gold gourami to my tank and i love him. Very beautiful and active, and he doesnt bother my guppies at all. Makes a nice centerpiece!
I'm looking to add a group of schooling fish into my 30g, lightly planted tank. I have some swords and crypts in the tank now but I'm looking to add more in the future. I'm wondering what kinds of fish i can add that won't nibble on my plants.
Currently i have 1 gold gourami, about 10 guppies...
I havent even seen my gourami try to pick at algae or anything on the leaves. I just kinda find chunks of the edges of the leaves when i look at my tanks in the morning.
Anyone have any ways to curb this behavior if its the barbs?
I've recently added a couple of amazon swords into my 30 gal. I also have a couple of crypts in the tank. My stock of fish includes 1 gold gourami, 3 julii corys, 2 gold barbs, and about 10 or so guppies. Every morning theres more chunks missing from the swords, though I've never seen any fish...
I use CaribSea sand. It was fairly cheap and pretty easy to clean. Since its made for aquariums, it doesnt cloud up the water at all when its first added to the tank.
