Hey all I have been keeping freshwater fish for up to a year now. I have a 110 with 16 cichlids in it. I am thinking about setting up a 30 gal tank as a FOWLR. I was told that HOB would be ok for saltwater by the lfs. Is the tank too small and would HOB work?

Thanks for the tips on cleaning the sand. I don't think it is clay though. I have had the tank with sand in it for almost 5 months with clear water.
