30 gal tank for FOWLR

Hey all

I have been keeping freshwater fish for up to a year now. I have a 110 with 16 cichlids in it. I am thinking about setting up a 30 gal tank as a FOWLR. I was told that HOB would be ok for saltwater by the lfs. Is the tank too small and would HOB work?

HOB should be OK for 30g FOWLR, but don't overstock it with fish.

HOB or a canister should be fine. Just make sure to not overstock like Toffee said.

If your starting fresh with a 30 I would suggest the 30B or 40B
as both these tanks would give you a better platform to start with and provide quite a bit of room for fish to swim
another thing to look at it will give you a bigger window on what stock you may want to keep
