    Orange Root looking thing

I have the same thing...not quite as long, but very very orange. On one end you can definitely see antennae..but also the root looking things all over too. This one curls into a ball alot but doesn't move around very much. Sorry, I broke my camera, no pics. :(

    What are they?

I have a couple of those, but sorry I forget what they are called. I believe it was Kevin that identified it for me. It's a type of slug (I think) if I'm not mistaken and I was told beneficial to my tank. That little purplish area is its shell, although it looks like part of it. I find them on...

Split from DSB thread (what now do I do now?)

There are also some really nice corals that fish will take to. But again, your lighting would most likely have to be more than what you have at the moment. My clowns didn't care for my bubble tip anemone, but they loved the pulsing xenia. :)

    Ich?

Why has no one mentioned this before??? I've never had the problem, but read about it constantly. This is the one reason I've been afraid of getting any really nice fish...afraid of losing it.

Can I add cc to my sump?

Great idea! :multi: That didn't even occur to me. And thanks, bad timing, but chit happens, and hopefully not for long. I've already tore down my FW and both of them are going in the basement for later. This will give me more time to learn.

Can I add cc to my sump?

Happy Holidays Everyone, I am going to have to tear down one of my tanks. Husband got laid off Friday and I just can't afford to keep 2 going. My newest tank has a 4 inch DSB, and my question is...can I put the CC from my established tank in the sump? The CC is so full of "life" that I...

Do I have the proper setup?

Is there a problem using a CC substrate? I've had one for almost a year now, and besides an algea outbreak (due to a LR), I've not had any other problems.

    calcium question

That's great Micheal! Unfortunately, this morning, I found a whole colony of aptasia on the back of one of my rocks, so I'm going to give that a try. Wish me luck!

    Damaged Xenia?

You were right...it's looking better this morning. Thanks! :D

    Damaged Xenia?

I think I damaged my Xenia today. I received 2 frags a couple of weeks ago and they've been doing great. I am currently moving everything to another tank and when I went to pick the rock up it was on it looked like part of the foot had attached itself to it and it stretched it. Then...

    mh/pc lighting

I have a 58 gal tall, with 2 175 mh, and 2 15 actinics, and a 50 NO 10,000. What do I need, if anything to "balance" out the lighting? And is this enough lighting for a clam? I have 2 55 pc's, but wasn't sure if I was going to add them to the canopy or not.

    Can anybody ID this Algae

I have that on one of my star polyp rocks and it has literally suffocated the whole rock....very few of the polyps left. I have tried manually removing it, but its wrapped so tight around the polyps, that it removes them as well. :bawl:

    Cycling tank -- ammonia ?

This might not belong here in this thread, if so I'm sure you'll move it. But after reading clown's problems, I decided to go with the fishless method. So far its been a week cycling. Ammonia is WAY up there. I was planning on putting some of the LR from my other tank in there to speed up the...

    Sick bubble tip

I've had my bubble tip anemone for about 2-3 months now, and it's been doing great. This morning I noticed that none of its tentacles were moving which was a little strange, so I tested the water. By the time I was done, the poor thing looked really pathetic, all shriveled and limp. I noticed...
