My 20G Long FW Planted Tank Build/Journey

Absolutely beautiful tanks, Daileene! I especially love the columns/rock w/ sand/pebbles you have in the 1 tank! :D Oh and, I had to put "Finding Nemo" on to keep my son busy so I could make this post. lol

Whoa! What's up with this fish???

The first thing that popped in my mind when I saw the pic was Curved Spine/TB. I had 2 Neon Tetras w/ that... not fun at all. I had to euthanize them when they could no longer swim upright.

Bad News / Good News First, with the Bad News: Yep, I knew things were going too well. /sigh Scarlet, my Swordtail, started doing somersaults during a pwc tonight. Low and behold she crashed belly up on the gravel right before my eyes. She was still alive, but was obviously going to pass soon...

Your tank looks INCREDIBLE, Edgar!! Nice job w/ the plants! They're really filling-in nicely! Any chance for a video post? :D

    55 Gallon Freshwater Tank

Hi, Edgar! Yep, that's my Red Tailed Black Shark, Tyrone. Oh and no, the red plant isn't live, but I loved the color, so I kept it. There are 4 other plants in the tank that are plastic as well. They're all against the back of the tank. The 2 tallest ones I have to help hide the air hoses, and...

    55 Gallon Freshwater Tank

Pics and Video The time has come! I finally have my tank back to "normal", (um, I think, lol), so I took a couple of pics and a video. You will notice that my tank has changed quite a bit from the last pics/vid I uploaded. I added a lot of new plants and I also placed my 3 Lyretail Guppies in...

    55 Gallon Freshwater Tank

 It really wasn't that bad. The really disgusting part was looking at the little buggers up close. They are freaky! I think I have the outbreak under control now... hopefully! I really don't want to deal w/ that ever again!

It's great to hear from you too! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! So... a free trip to Cali? That sounds like a plan! :thumb: Heh. Believe it or not, I found them at WalMart. I went there to buy Fungus Clear, but they were out. They had plenty of the Parasite Clear on the shelf though and I...

Anchor Worms Yep, that's right, I had Anchor Worms in my 55g. A few weeks back, I had noticed 2 white "strings" hanging out from behind my new Swordtail's fin. Now, I've never had to deal w/ anything like this before, so I didn't put it on my list of high-priority things to...

    55 Gallon Freshwater Tank

Thank you for the advice, Siva! (Sorry for the delay in my reply btw... busy, busy!) Actually, I did quite a bit of research on breeding ADF's, and, you were spot-on w/ everything! :) At this point though, I am holding off on introducing a female ADF in the 5g until I get my 55g back in order...

    55 Gallon Freshwater Tank

Thank you for the kind words! As far as the 10g, I agree and have no doubt that they'll be fine. Not to mention, I don't plan on keeping all of them. I'm at the planning stage right now w/ this, but now I'm thinking about keeping the original 3 in the 5g. Of course this might change if my...
