yes i only use the GE ..but i did have an issue once when i only waited 48 hours to place a decor piece in my tank it must have still been leaching chemical cause all my Frontosas got float which is a stress related thing as soon as i pulled it out and took care of them hey all got over it in...

2 things ... there are very inexpensive lighting fixtures for T5s that work great even have lunar lights and such less than $100 ( i am so happy with the one i am about to get 2 more for my other tanks) i don'tknow about posting websites on this because i am new to this forum and do not wish to...
I have zero problems using submersible heaters ... my tank is evenly warm .. i check it with a digital thermometer every few days ... however i use the visa-therm stealth which except for the on and off lights is very well hidden on my black backgrounds
i would at least add oxygen ,,, with an airpunp and a hydro sponge,,, just a little cheap one will do fine ... if you add this you probably be fine ... my breeder tank have no filters just Hydro sponges and air pumps .. also DO NOT miss weekly water changes
