I have a tank that used to be planted but I decided to remove the plants because the fish wouldn't let them take root. They just rearranged as they saw fit, which is fine, lesson learned.
I have planted tank substrate still in the take which over the past 2 years put root tabs in a number of...
Is there anything that those basic fish profiles from countless websites don't tell us about Firemouths?
Are there any little quirks or stuff like that that a new Firemouth owner should know??
Anything is appreciated! Thanks
The fish mixture would be fin in terms of aggression. The smaller fish like the rummy nose and rasboras you might find being picked off one by one, But that's only when the severum gets big enough to eat them.
Yeah that's gonna be heavy but if you can do it, you can do it. I think your plan of action is a good one. However, I wouldn't move the tank AND stand together. I mean, if it's possible, I would take the tank off the stand and move them separately. Do you have enough ppl to do that?

From that short video, to me, it looks like he ran into something and has a little cut. I say this because my Severum has something that looks similar at the moment except on his forehead. Also, I notice that whenever he gets spooked he jets away without any sense of direction and sometimes...
In my humble opinion, the "hierarchy of keeping plants alive" would be lighting, good substrate, Co2 and then Ferts.
The correct lighting is needed as a basis for photosynthesis, the substrate (for rooted plants) is where the majority of nutrition comes from, Co2 to boost the 'energy' to...
Yeah severum mama I think that may be my best choice. Let it grow for a little while in another tank until he gets the size and brass to defend himself. I really do love the rainbow shark, he's one of my oldest fish. :-( It's sad to see that.
I have noticed that this morning, the chasing...
Firemouth has been in there for 2 days and is about half the size of the shark.
I don't know what to do because the shark is relentless. The firemouth is clearly and visibily submissive, yet the shark keeps at it.
If they were just establishling a hierarchy the shark would get the hint...right?
