I've just noticed a small amount of this white webbing on the sand around a rock in my tank. Is this a normal type of algae? I was gone for a week and a cousin was feeding them...it isn't a disease or anything is it? Thanks a million!

I can't say I know an extreme amount about all this yet. But when I set my tank up I did have my filter running and the water was cloudy for a day and then settled down. But I put live sand in so that probably increased the cloudyness but it is supposed to also help the cycle get going. Live...

I was thinking about getting a star fish and someone posted this link about drip acclimation for me. It was great help...I was clueless as to how to do it. You might try this so that you don't have your fish keep passing away. HTH

I didn't know they would eat snails...I also have 3 very small hermit crabs that would probably go before the snails. As long as he gets fed I don't think he would harm anything from what I've read. So I'm most likely going to go ahead with one this weekend when I have time to introduce him...
