I inherited this guy about a month ago and Im torn as to whether or not he's a common. He has a lot of red in his fins and at times he turns white with spots....
So my pair of keyholes have spawned at least 3 times now that i know of however they eat their young each time. Anybody else experience this? Are they bad parents or will they eventually get it right? I would love to have baby keyholes
Can u help me figure out which is a male? I assume the one on the left is a boy he has more yellow to his body and more red on his fins....if that's the case i have two females and a male. Thanks
I accidentally got a small amount of purigen in my actual tank. I tried grabbing it out with a net but that was pointless i noticed several fish going after it. Will this harm/kill them????
Its a little hard to see but every morning i wake up to my peppered cories hanging out on this rock. There is 4 on top in a circle n the fifth is just underneath them. Its so cute!
I am considering one of these but I'm getting conflicting info as to their aggressiveness from what I understand as long as you can't fit in their mouth you should be ok? How big do their mouths get? Anybody here have experience with them?
Wanting to know if anybody has any RCS or similar shrimps they'd like to part with. I don't care about the color quality I enjoy them all the same, I just need to add some new shrimp to my tanks to add more genetic diversity. Thanks:)
I read yesterday about somebody using the crayola colored play sand for their tank. They said it was safe but I would like a second opinion before I seriously consider this! Thanks:)
So right now the only filters I have for my tanks are the HOB kind I know they aren't the best but I'm not going to be able to upgrade them any time too soon. So my question is that if there is any kind if refillable carbon I can purchase for them or am I doomed to use the carbon in a pad type...
Just out if curiosity does the activated carbon in the filter media extract liquid fertilizers from the water? If so would it be helpful to turn off the filter for a period if time after dosing the fertilizer?
Besides rams are there any other cichlids that can get along in community tanks? I always thought the answer was generally no but it seems like a lot of people do this, are they just lucky?
Yes, I know this should probably be in the plant section but I figured I would get more response here since I am leery about this. So I have been doing the liquid fertilizer thing and my plants are ok but I am thinking that they need more so I looked into root tabs but cost wise they would end...
What is a root tab? As you can tell I don't have much experience with live plants, I actually do have some though. I would like more can you recommend some that are low maintenance? And by that I pretty much mean no maintenance:)
I turned the light in my Angelfish tank and saw what first scared me cuz I thought it was a bunch of bugs then when I thought about it I realized it as a mass of angel fish fry! What do I do??? LOL I have only had livebearing fish this young:)
I am not new to shrimp but I am new to these guys. I got some and I am wondering where to put them do they get along with Rcs type shrimp or will they kill them?
So some of you might remember me posting about my Molly that have birth about a month ago. I swore she was pregnant for months! Anyways she finally gave birth to close to thirty fry about a month ago, up til the point she had them she was a big, beautiful healthy fish. After giving birth
So I am reading about a lot of people buying sand from places other than pet stores, seems like a good idea to me if it will save money:) but my question is that is there any sand you would come across they WOULDN'T be safe to put in an aquarium?
So I have a 20 gallon with one of those stupid preset heaters. Never really has done well keeping the temperature and now that it is getting cold it really isn't keeping temp. I have an extra heater for a larger tank that I was thinking about using until I can get a different heater for mymy 20.
