I'm in the Los Angeles area. Although, I was able to sell a good portion of my shrimp already! I'm going to ship them on Monday and see how many I have left that I want to sell. I can make a new post if I want to sell more. I think I should probably mark this as sold out... how do I do that?

Just wanted to follow along. That's a ton of snails! I've heard the calcium from the shells might affect breeding of the shrimp? <-- Not verified!

I got red rilis from my lfs a while ago and they've been breeding! Problem is, I'm not sure I can call the offspring true rilis. Here's some pics. Are these still considered rilis? Do I just call them RCS? Or is there another name for them? Thanks!

Ahh... That makes a lot of sense. And the bags really are slippery and didn't stick together!

I'm actually not entirely sure what I've got! I started off with red rili shrimp, but the offspring mostly aren't rili. They have red heads for the most part with varying levels of bee-like bands making them look either almost clear, to somewhat like a red cherry shrimp. I want to have two...

I got a delivery of Kordon breather bags, but I noticed there was a white powdery substance on them. Anyone know what it is? Is it safe for fish/shrimp? Do I wash it off first? Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, its my first tank and I'm surprised at all I've learned and the fun I've gotten out of it! My friends think I'm weird for having shrimp though. But its all good =)

Good idea on the filter pads to keep the bio filter going... but isn't cleaning solution in there too then? Kinda a lose lose situation. Might as well get all clean stuff and cycle the tank again with close monitoring?

I've had two nerites, not at the same time. Neither laid eggs on the glass. Maybe because I only had one at a time. With live plants though, aren't you eventually going to get some sort of snail accidentally? I recently got staurogyne, and got some "free" ramshorn snails! I figure I'd leave...

Seems similar to what I did for a recent rescaping. Took out half the water, rocks, then plants, then netted all I could. Everything went into a bucket. After rescaping, I could see babies that I had missed. After everything was back in, I don't think I lost any. Hard to tell with the babies...

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. Its a small 6 gallon tank with low/mid lighting, so I went for short, low light, slow growing plants. The crypt was all 1 plant before. Those marsilea... I'm hoping they're minuta. Got them off someone from ebay as 30 nodes. They don't seem to have grown much at...
